2020 Season
Ripcor London to Paris 29th to 30th May (Friday to Saturday)
The VCT Ripcor guys have extended an invitation to do their London to Paris 24hr Ride this May (I will be driving the support van and bringing bikes back).
Criterium du Dauphine: 4th to 8th June (Thursday to Monday)
A couple of years ago we had the Dauphine visit the area, finishing on the Plateau du Solaison - it was a fantastic atmosphere as a group of us rode out to see the finish. This year it returns with not one but 2 stages in the area (Sat and Sun) with all the big climbs - Colombiere, Aravis, Croix Fry being used. Therefore, I propose a rather chilled out weekend of riding and watching the racing.
Le Grand Bo Sportive 25th to 29th June (Thursday to Monday)
A great event on the Sunday - it is a real local sportive. Normally 800 to 1000 participants with a selection of distances to do. It is a far cry from the Maratona and Etape - which I rather like! A family feel.
Tour de France Weekend: 15th to 19th July (Weds to Sun)
Similar to the Dauphine, we have the Tour finishing over the Plateau des Glieres (Thursday 16th) - as many of you know, this is a steep climb so will be a great vantage point to watch the pros pass. Spend the rest of the weekend doing some rides in the area, eating cheese and drinking beer.
Point to Point: 24th to 28th September (Thursday to Monday)
I have a route planned from Turin to Courmayeur Mont Blanc (Ride to the Sky) - however with Italy on lock down - I though it better not to commit to a route at this stage but get it on people’s radar. If not Italy, then an alternative such as the Cote du Rhone (inc Ventoux) or similar.
Lombardia: 9th to 12th October (Friday to Monday)
Assuming it is going ahead, I have booked 12 places in an amazing hotel in Como for this fantastic sportive and weekend. Last year was a blast! Already got people keen so only a few spots left - first come first serve.
